The square lights up
the hidden drawings of an unfinished facade
In Bologna in Piazza Maggiore on September nights, the unfinished facade of the Basilica of San Petronio lights up as if by magic with colors and designs to the notes of Rossini. On the opening night with a live concert (15 September) and on the following evenings until 19 September, starting at 9 pm, we will see the drawings never made for the covering of its facade, the work of the most famous architects in history, from Palladio onwards. . Piazza Maggiore will appear to us like this, as in a dream, with its Basilica decorated with Gothic spiers or Renaissance arches or full of Baroque scrolls up to the most innovative ideas of the 20th century and today. The evocative and overwhelming music of Rossini’s William Tell Overture will be the sound background of these unforgettable nights.
