Philippe Herreweghe together with Andreas Brantelid, Danish cellist with a strong and often transgressive interpretative personality, offers a surprising and “radical” vision of Haydn’s first Cello Concerto. His Orchester des Champs-Elysées follows him in this “classicist” itinerary, founded in 1991 with the precise aim of restoring the “authentic” interpretation of the music of the second half of the eighteenth century and which over the years has broadened its horizon to include the entire span of the 19th century, from Beethoven to Bruckner.
