Leonardo Merlini
piano
Born in 2003, Leonardo Merlini began studying the piano at the age of five. A rising talent, he has distinguished himself in various national and international piano competitions, including the Steinway Competition. With a brilliantly developing concert career, he continues to refine his studies with Anna Kravtchenko at the Lugano Conservatory. In his program, he transitions from Michelangelo Rossi’s Baroque Toccata to Scriabin’s 20th-century Sonata, almost a pianistic poem, passing through the “adorable” scenes of Schumann’s Carnaval and Liszt’s rhapsodic “Carnival in Pest,” which, as a great concert pianist, Liszt himself was the first to perform in public.
