No piano here, just four strings. The New York-based Isidore String Quartet was formed in 2019 with the aim of revisiting, rediscovering and updating the string quartet repertoire. They are experts in the “Alexander Technique”, which allows exploration and development of body awareness and mental preparation and applies them to live performance. For their debut in Italy, with Bologna as their only stop, Isidore brings a program that intrigues with the uniqueness of its references: the classic Mendelssohn alongside Britten and the contemporary Dinuk Wijeratne.
PROGRAM:
Felix Mendelssohn
Quartet in E-flat major Op. 44 No. 3
Dinuk Wijeratne
The Disappearance of Lisa Gherardini (2022)
