oratorio di san filippo neri
Lucie Horsch
recorders
In Italian, it is called “flauto dolce,” in English, it is “recorder,” and it is (seemingly) the same instrument. That is until you attend a concert by Lucie Horsch, and then you get the sensation of listening to a hundred different flutes. Born in the Netherlands, 25 years old, she started playing at the age of five and gave her first live television concert at nine. Her repertoire is boundless, ranging from Dutch folk music to Kurtág, from Bach to Berio, from Telemann to Stravinsky. During the concert, she uses ten different variants of the straight flute: from the Renaissance soprano recorder to the “flauto di voce.” A continuous, astonishing “Metamorphosis.”
